Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the You Pick mobile app and this website (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don’t use the Service.

1. What You Pick is

You Pick helps two people decide where to eat. One person (the Host) curates a lineup of nearby restaurants and invites a dining partner; both then privately Like or Pass on each option, and the places you both Like become matches. You Pick provides the tool — it does not make reservations, process payments to restaurants, or guarantee availability.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Your account and matches

You Pick uses anonymous authentication; you generally don’t create a traditional account. You’re responsible for activity that takes place through your device. Invite codes give access to a match — share them only with the person you intend to invite.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose.
• Attempt to access another person’s match without an invitation.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to reverse-engineer the Service.
• Use automated means to access or scrape the Service or its data.
• Misuse restaurant or place data in violation of third-party terms.

5. Restaurant and third-party content

Restaurant listings, photos, hours, ratings, and other details are provided by third parties, including Google Places. We don’t control and can’t guarantee that this information is accurate, current, or complete. Confirm details such as hours and availability directly with the restaurant. Your use of third-party content is also subject to those third parties’ terms.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, software, and brand (excluding third-party content), is owned by You Pick and protected by applicable laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works except as permitted by these Terms.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we use it. A core principle: your individual swipe choices are private and are never shared with the other participant.

8. Service availability and changes

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Matches and their data are time-limited and may expire after a period of inactivity.

9. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any restaurant information is accurate.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, You Pick will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service, including reliance on restaurant information.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that could cause harm or legal exposure.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
